One of the challenges that comes to downloading images and graphics to use on your computer is trying to move them to your phone or tablet. Many of our downloads are in .ZIP format also, and while there are a number of different apps for tablets and phones to open .zip files, sometimes it’s just a lot easier to manage on a desktop!
If you have a Macbook and an iPad or iPhone, this can be done fairly easily simply by using the AirDrop feature or by saving the file to iCloud on your desktop and opening the file from your iCloud on your tablet or phone.
But what if you want to get a file you downloaded on your windows computer to your iPad or tablet? Or something on a Mac to another Windows computer or Android device nearby?
While there are tons of different ways to doing this, one of the easiest things I discovered is a website called SnapDrop, which works exactly like AirDrop, but doesn’t require you to have any specific kind of operating system or device to share.
Obviously Snapdrop should not be used for any highly sensitive documents in public settings, but it’s the perfect option if you’re just trying to get files from one device to another easily at home!
Hope that’s helpful! 🙂 I know the site has been invaluable for me anytime I need to send files to my parents who use Windows!
